> Audi Sailing Team powered by ALL4ONE managed to get into the game quickly against tough competitors > The new crew has found its own way and the good work atmosphere will allow the team to improve quickly, but also to carry on developping the boat > Next step for the team: Kiel Week regatta 18-24 June Audi Sailing Team powered by ALL4ONE quickly got into the game this week, despite the fact that the team was racing together for the first time in Barcelona, with 60% of the crew that was new to start this season. The team managed to take some good starts in particular, but also to achieve a good speed downwind. So the week was pretty encouraging, after a difficult start due to technical issues. The team remained focused, trying to get into the match the fastest possible way, while racing against well-trained competitors. Stephane Kandler, ALL4ONE's CEO and crew member: "We had a technical problem during the delivery between Valencia and Barcelona, so we could not train when we arrived in Barcelona! So we sailed for the first time on Friday (the team has not been able to race the 3 first races on Thursday), but with 20kts of wind we did quite well for a first sail! We made a few mistakes, but we were happy with the speed of the boat. We're happy to be "in the mix", but moreover we're happy to have been able to sail in good conditions." Audi Sailing Team powered by ALL4ONE then achieved its first podium yesterday with a 3rd place in the first race of the day, in a wind from 10 to 12 knots this time. After a good start, the team managed to keep the same position all the race, thanks to good tactics. No racing on Sunday unfortunately, due to a lack of wind. The very good atmosphere and teamwork onboard will be key to keep on progressing, and the team goes in the right direction thanks to that. The important point during this event was to find the team's place at a good level, which has been the case, even if there is still some work to carry on developing the boat in its new configuration for the next 52 Super Series events in Palma in July (Royal Cup and Copa del Rey regattas). Before that, the team will take part to the biggest European sailing event: Kieler Woche (Kiel Week), 16-24 June, which will allow the team to sail in different conditions than the ones of the Mediterranean waters, but also to race against different types of competitors versus the ones that the team usually fights against. The French-German team will also be able to carry on developing the boat through different types of regattas, and mainly thanks to offshore races, which will increase its performance and polyvalence.

After great racing in classic conditions for the 52s yesterday, the sea breeze is expected to be just a little lighter, peaking at around 15kts for the two races which are scheduled for the 52 Super Series at the Trofeo de Vela Conde de Godo. It was impressive to see Audi Sailing Team powered by ALL4ONE get straight into the mix considering that this was their first day on the 52 with no training and they have a high percentage of new crew this season. Spain’s Gonzalo Araujo – who previously steered Bribon – is on the helm, with Manuel Weiller calling tacticcs and Germany’s Boris Herrmann navigating. Stephane Kandler (FRA) runners and team CEO Audi Sailing Team powered by ALL4ONE (FRA/GER) explains this morning: “ We have a new crew, 60% new for this event. We had technical problem during the delivery so we could not train and so yesterday went OK for a training day! So with 20kts we were happy with the speed of the boat. We made some little mistakes. The idea is to bring in new blood, and so the likes of Boris Herrmann is young and a fast learner, the fact is the programme is open to anybody. Boris knows the electronics and is very calm, a very quick learner and also our tactician is quite young. We are aiming to promote young talent from anywhere, mainly from Europe. We try to sail with a European crew and have many Spanish here – we have many Bribon crew – so it is good mix of good guys. So we are happy after yesterday because it was no fun waiting on the dock for four days. That was the first time the team sailed together, so we are pretty happy.” Source: 52 Super Series
Audi Sailing Team powered by ALL4ONE achieved its first podium today with a 3rd place in the first race of the day, in a wind from 10 to 12knots. Then the French-German team ended up with a 5th place on the second race, Audi Sailing Team powered by ALL4ONE chose the wrong side of the race course, and didn't manage to come back. Due to technical problems, Audi Sailing Team powered by ALL4ONE will resume racing in the Trofeo Conde de Godo in Barcelona from tomorrow (Friday morning). Stephane Kandler, ALL4ONE’s CEO: "It is very sad news that we can't sail today, but we discovered a breakage the day after the delivery and we had to make sure the boat was well repaired before sailing. We missed the training days and the first racing day but we will back tomorrow. I want to thank particularly our shore team, which has been working night and day the last days to allow us to be on the starting line. We are for sure disappointed but the crew is eager to be back in the game and prepares the racing and the boat on shore with a lot of motivation."
